ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Warriors Academy of Martial Arts was started in September 2007 in the basement of the Barneveld Congregational United Church of Christ. It was founded by Master Chuck Lovelace under Grand Master Guy Lee Fields.  Within the first six months, we went from five to thirty-five students, and three programs, and had to find a larger location to serve our students.

Master William Booth took over the school from Master Lovelace in 2018.  Our school is based on Traditional beliefs and values and we strive to live and express these beliefs in a positive and structured environment. We are currently located in our new location in downtown Mount Horeb, at 132 East Main St.  Private lessons and seminars are available, as well as individual personalized training.

General Information

Our Concept:

Warriors Academy will teach Traditional Martial Arts and Self-Defense to any individual who is willing to learn.

What we teach:

Warriors Academy teaches a combination of Traditional Tae Kwon Do, Close Quarters Combative (Self-Defense), and Chanbara (Padded Weapons Sparring). By offering these three items in conjunction with each other, we feel we offer a well-rounded easy to understand curriculum that can be adjusted as needed to meet each person’s individual needs.

Warriors Academy recently added Brazilian Jujitsu to our curriculum. Give us a call or check out our Programs page for more details.

Who we teach:

Warriors Academy is open to all students that are willing to train and put forth effort. We can offer training to people of all ages and body styles, dispelling the myth that Martial Arts is for the young and flexible.  We will work with you to make you feel comfortable and competent with your training. We can train anyone from age five to eighty-five with a custom individual plan that will ensure their success. If you or your child has special needs, we encourage you to come in.  We have extensive experience working with individuals with special needs and are willing to develop a program for your unique situation.

About

TENANTS OF TAEKWONDO

Courtesy (Ye Ui). To be thoughtful and considerate of others. Taekwondo students (both students and instructors) should be polite, and show consideration for others.

Integrity (Yom Chi). Integrity describes how you should interact with others. To be honest and good, earn respect and trust.

Perseverance (In Nae). This basically stands for your internal drive. Challenges allow us to improve ourselves and should therefore not be avoided.

Self-Control (Guk Ki). To have control of your body and mind. A Taekwondo student should practice controlling his actions and reactions.

Indomitable Spirit (Baekjool Boolgool). To have courage in the face of adversity. A Taekwondo student should never be dominated by, or have his spirit broken by another.
